Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

The 35th Logistics Readiness Squadron chose Senior Airman Arsenio Small, inspections manager, from Fayetteville, N.C., as its Wild Weasel of the Week.

What's your daily mission?
I ensure the serviceability of all of the 35th Fighter Wing's assets in stock in our warehouse. My job is to safeguard our base customers from receiving parts that are prone to malfunction. Whether it's an aircraft that needs a part to become mission capable or a compressor for the dining facility, I make sure the part is good to go!

What do you enjoy about your job?
My work environment is great because my coworkers are always willing to help each other, no matter the situation.

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
Upon graduating high school, I dreamed of attending art school. Though that was my initial dream, I decided to serve in the Air Force instead. I'm enjoying the military right now and may even stay in a full 20 years, if I can.

What is your favorite thing about being in Japan?
I love the food in Japan -- so much so that I need to do extra physical training so I don't gain weight.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did they teach you?
My supervisor is a good role model who has taught be how to be a good role model for others.

Supervisor's remarks:
"Small is a unique Airman. He has a great personality and is very charismatic. At work he maintains the highest level of professionalism while uplifting the spirits of those around him with his silly jokes. He is organized and always has a plan to achieve his goals. He is truly a good example for younger Airmen." - Staff Sgt. Josue Mercado
