MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- A joint bilateral Major Accident Response Exercise took place at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Aug. 22, 2014. A simulated fighter jet crash accident during an Airshow involved approximately 200 role players, including 100 "injured" bystanders. This annual exercise is designed to demonstrate the base's capability to respond to emergency situations and was conducted in preparation for the base's upcoming Air Fest.
