Misawa firefighters hold annual Fire Prevention Week

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 35th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department kicked off Fire Prevention Week at Misawa Air Base, Oct. 5, 2014. The observance began Sunday with multiple team events for the Misawa, Towada and Hachinohe city fire departments. Later in the week, the department hosted a live fire demonstration where a discarded jet was set ablaze and extinguished by base leadership. The week concluded with a parade and open house at Fire Station 1.
