35 MDG executes aeromedical evacuation

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Airmen from the 35th Medical Group teamed up with the California Air National Guard to execute an aeromedical evacuation exercise March 5, 2015, at Misawa Air Base, Japan. It was the first of its kind here, and more than 30 patients were transported from the belly of a C-130J Hercules onto medical buses and transferred to the base hospital where teams treated them upon arrival. The operation took place in conjunction with Beverly Sunrise 15-2, an operational readiness exercise designed to test the readiness of Airmen in a wartime setting.
