Living Pattern Survey available May 1 Published April 30, 2015 MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 35th Comptroller Squadron here will be conducting a Living Pattern Survey that will be available May 1-22 It is the first part of the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) Survey process and is used to capture the living pattern of service members by identifying the location and amounts of goods and services they purchase. The LPS helps offset the higher prices of non-housing goods and services. The data obtained from the LPS is used to establish the cost of living index for that particular location. The LPS is web-based, hosted by the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO), and takes about 30 minutes to complete. The survey is available to all service members with dependents or unaccompanied members living off-post in Japan for more than three months. However, service members with non-Command Sponsored dependents in Japan should not participate. Click on the link to get started: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/lps-japan.cfm
