The 35th Security Forces Squadron K-9 unit conducted odor detection training at Misawa Air Base, Japan, May 4-5, 2015. Military working dog teams train daily to ensure they can effectively perform controlled aggression, engage resistance, detect odor and other skills. In order to partake in real-world scenarios, teams are required to become certified and maintain their certification. The amount of time for a team to initially become certified depends on the ability of the dog and handler working together to accomplish their mission.
