MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Misawa AB families and local community members gathered at Risner Circle to officially welcome the winter season here during the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, Dec. 4.

Students from Misawa AB and Misawa City performed holiday carols for attendees, followed by the official lighting of the tree. Various units and private organizations on base also competed to see whose holiday greeting card display was best decorated. The 35th Security Forces Squadron was crowned the winner of the holiday greeting card competition, with runner ups being Naval Air Facility Misawa and the 35th Contracting Squadron.
