The march started at the Enlisted Club and ended at Edgren High School where an assembly was held. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. The three-hour event consisted of a luncheon, observance march and assembly held at Edgren High School in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. The campaign for a federal holiday in King's honor began soon after his assassination in 1968. MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Team Misawa gathered for the 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day luncheon here Jan. 15.

The three-hour event consisted of a luncheon, observance march and assembly held at Edgren High School in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
