MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan – Beverly Sunrise (BS) 26-01 concluded at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Oct. 16, 2025, after a rigorous two days of high-tempo training designed to sharpen the 35th Fighter Wing’s ability to sustain operations in contested environments.
Throughout the exercise, squadrons across the installation executed 24-hour operations, transforming the base into a dynamic training ground. Airmen raced to simulated injury sites to apply tactical combat casualty care skills, identified unexploded ordnance under pressure, practiced base lockdown procedures, and operated in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) protective gear to ensure mission continuity in high-threat scenarios.
Across the flight line, post-attack reconnaissance teams swept through simulated contaminated zones, marking hazards and relaying critical information to commanders. Firefighters maneuvered through thick smoke during emergency drills, security forces reinforced defensive positions, and medical teams trained with casualty actors to ensure medical readiness.
“The morale, teamwork, and communication throughout this exercise was outstanding,” said U.S. Air Force Major Shawn Hansen, 35th Comptroller Squadron commander. “The hours were long but the Airmen proved what a unified team can accomplish when faced with real challenges.”
BS 26-01 strengthened the 35th Fighter Wing’s readiness to detect threats, safeguard the force and sustain airpower generation under the most demanding conditions. By training to fight through CBRN threats, the wing demonstrated its ability to protect the installation, project combat power and defend the Indo-Pacific alongside allies and partners.
