This week’s Wild Weasel of the Week (WWoW) is Tech. Sgt. Sarah Rodriguez, 35th Maintenance Group training management element chief.

Airmen selected as WWoW represent the top performers from across Misawa Air Base, recognized for their outstanding dedication, mission impact and embodiment of the U.S. Air Force core values.

Rodriguez led a vital F-16 engine training effort, certifying four Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea instructors and enabling the rapid integration of $330 million in assets. Her leadership ensured 22 jets were “Fight Tonight”-ready prior to divestment, reinforcing operational readiness across the Indo-Pacific theater.

“Training is the cornerstone of excellence,” Rodriguez said. “None of the mission happens unless Airmen are trained properly—and my team ensures that happens.”

With her time at Misawa combined with a previous tour totaling six years, Rodriguez calls the base her second home and is honored to be recognized for her contributions.

“Success isn’t mine alone,” she added. “I’m grateful for the supervisors and troops who helped me grow into the Airman I am today. I look forward to continuing to learn and lead.”

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family members. Her passion for mentorship, mission focus, and team empowerment make her a standout member of Team Misawa.
