Sports shorts from around Misawa Published Feb. 26, 2008 35th Fighter Wing public affairs MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Eagles vs. Chiefs Volleyball Game: Team Misawa is invited to come out and cheer, or heckle, at the Eagles vs. Chiefs volleyball game. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. on March 14 and will take place at the base gym. Softball Coaches Needed: The women's varsity softball team is in need of coaches for the upcoming season. Anyone interested in coaching the Misawa Lady Jets softball team should call Staff Sgt. Tim Numsali at 226-2296. Men's Varsity Softball Meeting: The men's varsity softball meeting is scheduled for Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. in the Potter Fitness Center annex gym. This meeting is for anyone interested in playing in the 2008 season. Inaugural Dodgeball Tournament: A dodgeball tournament is scheduled for March 23. This is a free event. Sign-ups will be taken until noon on March 20. Free uniforms will be given to the first ten teams to sign-up. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded. Bench Press and Dead Lift Competition Results: The Potter Fitness Center held a bench press and dead lift competition Feb. 16. The results are as follows: 1st Place: Chris Smith, weight class 242 pounds-Super - Bench pressed 415 pounds - Dead lifted 635 pounds 2nd Place: Leroy Moody, weight class 220-242 pounds - Bench pressed 375 pounds - Dead lifted 500 pounds 3rd Place: Kevin Cruz, weight class 198-220 pounds - Bench pressed 330 pounds - Dead lifted 450 pounds
