Misawa Air Base is scheduled to host Super Saturday April 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tohoku ballroom in the Enlisted Club.

The day brings activities and events for children and their families as an observance for the Month of the Military Child and Child Abuse Prevention month.

"We wanted to give families an opportunity to participate in activities with their children and to learn about some of the services that are offered on base," said Ms. Rochelle Phelps, the Family Advocacy outreach manager at Misawa.

Some of the information tables in the ballroom will include helping services from AFRC, the Health and Wellness Center, chapel and family advocacy.

"Along with information booths, kids will be able to get their faces painted and put on removable tattoos," she said.

The event is free. Throughout the day there will be drawings for prizes such as movie passes, two Sunday brunches at the club and food combos. The grand prize will be a Nintendo Wii.

"Each person will just put their name in a hat and we will draw the winners," she said.
