The Grissom Dining Facility will remain open and ready to service weary Airmen a hot meal during exercise Beverly Sunrise 10-01.

While the Airmen of Misawa are running for cover during an exercise scenario, the Grissom Dining Facility will be removing covers from the serving trays on the main and snack lines in an effort to keep Airmen morale high.

"I think it's good that the DFAC is open during the exercise," said Airman Frank Dominguez, 35th Force Support Squadron DFAC line cook. "I think that with how the weather is going to be during this exercise the fact that people can come in out of the cold and have a hot meal will make them happy."

The DFAC will be open to all ranks and will operate at its regular hours with only minor changes to the flight and box meal services.

"We will be servicing box meals during all of our shifts," said Airman 1st Class Adam Rowell, 35th Force Support Squadron DFAC chief apprentice. "We're planning on serving approximately 500 box meals."

For Airmen wanting a meal ready to eat, they can be purchased at the Grissom DFAC, Falcon Feeder and at transition points for $4.25.

"We use exercises as an opportunity to show off our skills and go above and beyond what's expected, like we normally do," said Airman Rowell.
