Nominee's rank and name:
Airman 1st Class Gabrielle Carrillo

Where are you from? Dallas, TX.

What's your favorite thing about being stationed in Japan? The outdoor sport activities, such as snowboarding.

Who has been your greatest Air Force mentor and what quality about this mentor do you value most? Tech. Sgt. Richard Tang, he will stop at absolutely nothing to give a helping hand or to lend his ongoing support.

What is your primary professional goal at this point in your career? To learn all I need to know about my Air Force Specialty Code and more, be outstanding at what I do and to make the Air Force a career.

What motivates you? Knowing that my family is waiting for me back home and giving me all of their support to be successful.

Describe the best day of your life: The day I graduated Basic Military Training and saw my family, who showed up completely unannounced, and knowing my journey was going to take off from that point on.

What advice would you give to new Airmen? Take your job more seriously than you did in tech-school, don't lose sight of why you're here, and stay on track with your Career Development Course and other training.

"She is ready to learn all the ins and outs of her job, and she has taken the lead on various projects around the work center. I'm so glad to have her as part of our team."
