Staff Sgt. Flor A. Rocha, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron water and fuels systems technician.

Where are you from?
Born and raised in Colombia but I claim New York as my state-side home.

What's your favorite thing about being stationed in Japan?
My favorite thing about being stationed in Japan is having the opportunity to learn about Japanese culture, learning the language and having the privilege of visiting many beautiful places. As a parent, I especially value the low crime rate.

Who has been your greatest Air Force mentor and what quality about this mentor do you value most?
My brother, Master Sgt. Cardona, is my greatest Air Force mentor. The quality that I value the most is his endless motivation and drive. No goal is unattainable despite the obstacles.

What is your primary professional goal at this point in your career?
My goal is to earn my bachelors degree and continue to be a role model for my two sons.

What motivates you?
My motivation is the impact that my life will make on my kids and their future.

Describe the best day of your life.
The best day of my life will be the day I retire from the military knowing that I gave my very best. I will look back and have no regrets, knowing that I took every opportunity to serve to the best of my abilities.

What advice would you give to new Airmen?
I would say dream and set goals. Do what it takes to reach them; don't let anything or anyone get in the way of reaching your dreams.

Supervisor's comment:
"Staff Sgt. Rocha is a rising star amongst her peers, no task is out of reach and she shines on every level," said Tech. Sgt. Timothy Linder, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron NCOIC of Maintenance Engineering. "I have the utmost confidence that one day she will be a senior leader and make us all proud!"
