Nominees rank and name:
Staff Sgt. Danielle Mabry, 35th Force Support Squadron food service supervisor.

Where are you from?
Columbia, S.C.

What's your favorite thing about being stationed in Japan?
My favorite thing about being stationed in Japan would have to be the people. Each day I am surrounded by friendly Japanese locals who work hard and are very courteous and display great customer service. They have really helped my daughter and I adapt to the Japanese environment and become more accustomed to their culture.

Who has been your greatest Air Force mentor and what quality about this mentor do you value most?
My greatest mentor has been my very first supervisor Tech Sgt. Chris Starnes. He taught me to always strive for excellence and take pride in how and what I do in the Air Force. The quality I valued most about him was how he was the epitome of a good leader who truly led by example. There was no doubt he cared about the AF, the mission and his airmen. Tech Sgt. Starnes greatly contributed to my professional development and I'm grateful to have him as my first supervisor.

What is your primary professional goal at this point in your career?
At this point in my career, my goal is to obtain the rank of Technical Sergeant. I believe an added stripe always increases your abilities have a more positive impact on the AF.

What motivates you?
My daughter motivates me; she is constantly watching and imitating me, saying she wants to be me when she grows up. I work hard because I am her primary example. I want to continue to be the type of woman she will look up to and want to imitate. She is my life.

Describe the best day of your life.
The best day of my life was when my daughter was born. She brought on a whole new meaning to the words accomplishment and hard work.

What advice would you give to new Airmen?
Every task requires effort. The only thing they can achieve without it is failure. Decide what it is they want to accomplish, set goals and stick to them. Don't ever allow anyone to determine their fate and remember what they accept in their presence is their standard.

Supervisor's comment:
"Staff Sgt. Mabry is the 'fire-and-forget' noncommissioned officer. She gets things done right the first time...every time" said Senior Master Sgt. Gina Christman, Sustainment Services Flight superintendent. " I knew of her great reputation before I met her...she makes great things happen."
