Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.
The 35th Aerospace Medicine Squadron chose Senior Airman Trentyn Tavares, a Labor and Delivery Technician, to be their Wild Weasel of the Week.
What is your daily mission?
To provide medical support to all DoD beneficiaries.
What do you enjoy about your job?
Interacting with all kinds of people and different work centers around the base. There is nothing quite like learning new tasks and how every work center contributes to the base's mission.
Why did you choose to serve in the Air Force?
I knew I wanted to serve, but didn't have a particular branch. It just felt like God was pushing me toward the Air Force.
What is your favorite thing about living in Japan?
My favorite part about living in Japan is the opportunity to explore and travel the country.
Who has been your best mentor and what have they taught you?
The best mentor throughout my time being here in Japan is MSgt Claudia Ramirez. She taught me when it comes to your career to never get too comfortable and always find ways to challenge yourself. If you become comfortable, you become complacent and you're not growing to become a better Airman. Being complacent is a hindrance to not only yourself, but your team and the Air Force.

What goals do you want to meet while at Misawa?
While at Misawa, I would like to start school and try to complete my CCAF, travel as much as I can while here and save some money.
What goals do you want to meet during your Air Force career?
While in the Air Force, I want to complete my 20 years and get an education. I might cross-train into diagnostic imaging.
