What's your daily mission?
Managing medical clearances for permanent change of duty station, security, retraining, special duty, separations, retirements, initial flying class physicals, enlistment physicals, and academy physicals. I also respond to in-flight and ground emergencies and keep the partnership positive with Optometry and Navy Medicine.

What do you enjoy about your job?
The ability to refer to Air Force Instructions for proper procedures in regard to clearances, retraining and separations, as well as the open communication between the doctors and my leadership. I also enjoy  just being able to learn something new every day.

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
To try something new and see new places around the world.

What is your favorite thing about being in Japan?
The people and how nice everyone is.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her?
Master Sgt. Blount-- taught me to stand up for what you believe in and to care for your people.
Tech. Sgt. Navarrette--she taught me to take pride in my work and not doubt my abilities.

Time in Misawa: 1.5 months

Time in military: 5 years and 6 months

Goals you want to achieve or meet while in Misawa?
Climb Mt. Fuji and visit Kyoto
