Command Post

The Command Post (CP) is comprised of five functions; Management, Operations Control, Reports, Training, and Systems Management.

Management is responsible to provide leadership, guidance, resources and support necessary for the CP to complete their mission

Operations Control Function must be manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by two certified Emergency Action(EA) controllers who communicate with aircraft, air traffic control facilities, wing agencies, and other command and control centers in support of their diverse taskings. They are the focal point to aggressively monitor, and track all aircraft assigned to the 35th Fighter Wing; whether they are home station or deployed, while also tracking the location and actions of wing senior leadership. They are a vital link in the chain of command running from the National Command Authorities to those who put steel on target.

Reports Function is responsible to provide uninterrupted Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS) reporting, tracking the go to war capability of the wing; ensuring it's timely and accurate dissemination to the Joints Chiefs of Staff. Additionally they provide timely Operational Reporting (OPREP) during peacetime and contingencies.

Training Function is manned by and EA expert who develops, manages, conducts and directs all required CP training.
