Voting Assistance Program Your Installation Voter Assistance Office (IVAO) is here to help you exercise the very right you protect—your right to vote! The Uniformed and Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) protects ALL United States citizens right to vote while residing outside the territorial limits of the US. Overseas citizens can vote in just two easy steps. Register and request your ballot by August 1 for the General Election. Then, cast your ballot as soon as it arrives. Head to FVAP.gov to get started. The IVAO is overseen by the Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC). We have copies of the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). The A&FRC is one of the few places on base that has a working FAX machine! Which is very useful if you need to FAX the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). The FWAB is used if you did NOT receive your ballot back from the state in which you are registered to vote. For state specific information please refer to https://www.fvap.gov/ The A&FRC is located in the Torii BLDG 656. We can be reached via phone DSN 315-226-4735, Japanese cell phone 0176-77-4735, OR USA COMM 011-81-3117-77-4735; or via email at vote.misawa@us.af.mil Another wonderful resource to meet all your voting needs is your Unit Voting Assistance Officer (UVAO).
