Think safety during the winter season

Each and every one of you is important to your Misawa leadership and because of that, I want to spend a minute talking about safety.

Although we're having a mild winter, everyone needs to remember to pay close attention to driving safety.

Give yourself extra stopping distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you, and slow down.

When it snows, the most hazardous roads on base are Security Hill and Falcon Drives -
so be extra careful on these roads.

Finally, a reminder about DWI prevention--the best advice I can give you is if you're going to drink, don't drive.

Have a designated driver or a plan to get home. If you find yourself in a situation where you've been drinking then remember the McSADD program at 222-9512 or call a taxi.

There is simply no excuse to put yourself and the rest of the Misawa team at risk because you decided to get behind the wheel of your vehicle while under the influence of alcohol - my message is clear; don't drink and drive.

It's been a safe winter so far--let's continue on the positive safety trend.

Keep up the great work Misawa
