Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

Airman 1st Class William D. Klein, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron pavement and construction equipment apprentice, is the Wild Weasel of the Week for the week of Jan. 1. Klein is a native of Saint Louis.

What's your favorite thing about being stationed in Japan?
I like the change in culture and the different way of life. Sports activities such as kayaking, snowboarding and surfing are much more available here compared to St. Louis.

What is your primary professional goal at this point in your career?
I want to complete my bachelor's degree in architecture before I leave Misawa or as soon as possible.

What motivates you?
My love for music and sense of adventure are a great source of motivation for me. I truly enjoy my job playing with Tonka trucks...I mean, running CE's heavy equipment.

Supervisor comments:
"Airman Klein's efforts directly contributed to the winning of the 2013 Headquarters Pacific Air Forces Robert H. Curtain Award for the outstanding large civil engineer unit and the 2013 Major General Clifton D. Wright Award for the best operations flight in Pacific Air Forces. As a reflection of Klein's assertiveness, he is the lead operator for parking lot snow removal on Misawa Air Base," said Staff Sgt. Cory Ray Robert Good, 35 CES.
