UPDATE: Misawa Airman passes away after motorcycle accident

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Benjamin Jackson, a 35th Maintenance Squadron propulsions technician, died April 13 after a motorcycle accident on base.

Jackson was rushed to the hospital on Misawa Air Base and pronounced deceased at approximately 3:33 p.m.

Jackson was a 20-year-old from New Glarus, Wisconsin, and served in the Air Force since 2016.

"Any time we lose a member of Team Misawa, it impacts the entire installation and community," said Col. R. Scott Jobe, the 35th Fighter Wing commander. "My sincerest condolences and prayers go out to their family, friends and wingmen."
