MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan --
The Pacific Air Forces commander visited Misawa Air Base Sept. 25 and 26.
"I like to take every opportunity I can to get out to the bases in the Pacific," said Gen. Carrol Chandler.
During his time at Misawa, the general flew with a 13th Fighter Squadron pilot and met with squadron members who are training for a deployment early in 2008, and spoke about manning cuts, budget dollars, and how PACAF plans to ensure both training and quality of life initiatives are met in the upcoming fiscal year.
"I'd just like to say thanks to the folks at the 35th Fighter Wing for the work they do every day," the general said, performing AEF rotations, continuing training here at Misawa and doing great things for PACAF, he added.
