Colonel Jared J. Hutchinson is the Commander, 35th Operations Group, Misawa Air Base, Japan. The group is composed of two deployable F-16CM “Wild Weasel” Fighter Squadrons, an Operations Support Squadron and an Air Control Flight capable of conducting and supporting sustained worldwide operations. It is responsible for flight operations, airfield management, wing intelligence, tactical air control, weather support, an F-16 Mission Training Center and Draughon Electronic Warfare Range.
Colonel Hutchinson entered the United States Air Force after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1996. He is a command pilot with over 2,000 flying hours, including combat over Iraq. He has held various positions at the squadron, group, and wing levels. Prior to his current assignment, Col Hutchinson served as the Director of Air Force International Programs, Weapons Division, Directorate of Security Assistance at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, Pentagon, Washington DC. He is married to the former Sara Anderson of Phoenix, AZ. They have a son, Max, and two daughters, Lexi and Eve.
