35th Fighter Wing Recognizes First Outstanding Teacher for 2009-2010 School Year

11/5/2009 - MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Professional educators joined forces to celebrate the recognition of one of their peers. Colonel RC Craig, Vice Wing Commander and DoDDS Liaison Officer, made a surprise visit to recognize Mr Jim Moody for outstanding programs he implemented for students of Cummings Elementary School. Programs highlighted include the student-managed Cummings News Broadcast Company (CNBC), Cross Country Skiing, the Sapporo Experience, and Educational Technology programs. While presenting a 35 FW "You Made a Difference" certificate to Mr Moody, Colonel Craig acknowledged, "Your highly effective hands-on programs have helped Misawa's youth develop public speaking, research, media presentation, and organizational skills and have positively impacted their career and life skill development". |
