U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Tii Wayne White, a 35th Force Support Squadron food service journeyman, pulls baked chicken from an oven at the Grissom Dining Facility, at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Aug. 15, 2017. Misawa AB currently has an influx of more than 500 Marines here for exercise Northern Viper 17. One of the many challenges food service personnel faced is feeding more than double the usual customer base. The Grissom Dining Facility enlisted the help of eight Marines to join its Airmen to support the mission. If a real-world contingency operation occurred, there would be an influx of personnel as Misawa AB transitioned into a power projection hub for service members getting forward deployed to support the mission.
