COURT-MARITAL

Airman 1st Class Vincent Falletta, IV, 35th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was tried by a panel of Officer and Enlisted court members at a Special-Court Martial here Jan. 26 and 27. Falletta made several online orders of spice in violation of both AFI 44-120 and a General Order issued by Pacific Air Forces Commander Gen. Gary North.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations began the investigation when they became aware a package containing spice was being shipped to the Misawa Post Office. OSI lawfully seized the package and through their investigation were able to learn of repeated spice purchases over a 3-month period.

Falletta was found guilty of possessing spice on six occasions, distributing spice and making a false official statement to OSI when he was confronted.

The court sentenced Falletta to 15 days confinement, reduction to E-1, forfeiture of $442 pay per month for six months, two months restriction to the limits of Misawa Air Base and hard labor without confinement for three months. Falleta is being discharged from the Air Force for drug possession and distribution.

The punishments given to Falletta remind the entire Misawa community that the possession, use and/or distribution is incompatible with military service and will not be tolerated.
